Teacher Leadership Summits

Every teacher is a leader, whether in their classroom, their building, district, or their community.
Wisconsin recognizes this and creates opportunities for teachers to take the lead on issues that concern and excite them.

FAQs

Who should be on the team?
At least one teacher, more is better.  Depending on the plan, it's also helpful to have a principal, board member, or administrator on the team-- especially if you're making a change to policy or involving finances.

What does it cost?
The only cost to your team is travel to and from the summit location. Meals and lodging at the summit are covered by sponsors of the event.

What if we have a problem but don't have a solution?
Don't let that keep you from applying. Teams come with problems or plans at all stages in the process.

Does every group that applies get in?
No.  The application process is competitive. Your application will be read and scored by three different people. Evaluation is based on viability of the plan, support by admin and others, and how thoroughly the questions have been answered.

What happens after the summit?
There will be follow up at 90 and 180 days to see how the plan is progressing.
